IRONMAN LANZAROTE reçoit la Médaille d’or de l’excellence en tourisme

Kenneth Gasque , directeur des événements au Club La Santa et directeur de course de l’IRONMAN LANZAROTE, s’est rendu à l’île de El Hierro le mercredi 26 Septembre et a eu l’honneur de recevoir la médaille d’or d’excellence du tourisme, l’honneur le plus élevé décernée par le gouvernement Canarien pour l’organisation de l’Ironman de Lanzarote. L’événement a reçu la médaille d’or dans le secteur Hébergement , restauration et loisirs , d’information et de promotion pour son impact sur ​​la promotion des Îles Canaries en tant que destination touristique internationale.

L’Ironman Lanzarote en est à 22 éditions couronnées de succès et ce festival sportif annuel s’est maintenant ancré dans la culture locale. Cet événement de renommée internationale attire des milliers d’athlètes et leurs familles du monde entier, créant une atmosphère incroyable, les concurrents se préparent pour l’une des compétitions les plus difficile au monde. Certains de ces athlètes n’ont jamais visité l’île avant, mais il en garde un souvenir éternel. Son frère cadet, l’IRONMAN LANZAROTE 70,3, après avoir fait ses débuts en 2012, dont la deuxième édition aura lieu le samedi 5 Octobre avec un départ et une arrivée au Club La Santa .

IRONMAN LANZAROTE receives Gold Medal of Tourism Excellence

Kenneth Gasque, Events Manager at Club La Santa and IRONMAN LANZAROTE Race Director, travelled to the island of El Hierro on Wednesday 26th September 2013, with the honour of receiving the Gold Medal of Tourism Excellence, the highest possible honour awarded by the Canarian Government for the organization of the IRONMAN LANZAROTE. The event received the Gold Medal in the Accommodation, Catering, Leisure, Information and Promotional Sector for its impact towards promoting the Canary Islands as an international tourism destination.

The IRONMAN LANZAROTE has now completed 22 successful editions and this annual sporting festival that has now engrained itself in the local culture. This internationally acclaimed event attracts thousands of athletes and their families from all over the world to the resort, creating an incredible atmosphere as the competitors prepare for one of the world´s most arduous and challenging competitions. Some of these athletes have never visited the island before, etching the experience in their memories forever. Its younger brother, the IRONMAN LANZAROTE 70.3, having debuted in 2012, now strides into its second edition on Saturday 5th October with both start and finish line at Club La Santa.

Club La Santa has now been the leading resort for active and sports holidays since 1983, a paradise for families and sports people alike. The resort offers more than 30 sporting activities and facilities, catering for both amateurs and professional sportsmen and many Olympic, World and European champions choose Club La Santa for their holidays or training camps. The resort has 396 existing apartments and another 96 brand new modern Suites to be opened in April 2014. The expansion project increases our offer to a total of three 50m Olympic Swimming Pools, as well as add many new facilities such as a Conference Centre for up to 300 delegates, Squash courts, another Sports hall, Golf training areas, an Aerobics Arena, an indoor Dance Studio and a large state-of-the-art Bike Centre.
