The Swiss Side triathlon family remains strong – and continues to grow. A top-class team of professional athletes will be hunting for the podium with Swiss Side in the coming competition season.

Two who have already crowned themselves king and queen of the Ironman World Championship in Kona will continue their cooperation with Swiss Side in 2020: Twotime Ironman World Champion Patrick Lange will be riding the Swiss precision wheels for another year in training and competition. He is convinced “that the assistance of my partner Swiss Side will support me in my intention to improve my bike performance in the upcoming season.“ The « DT Swiss Aerodynamics by Swiss Side » athlete and four-time Ironman World Champion Daniela Ryf also continues to rely on Swiss Side’s expertise to aerodynamically optimise her entire bike-rider system.

Laura Philipp has been riding Swiss Side wheels since 2016 – and nothing will change this season. The long- and middle-distance winner will continue to have her riding position and bike setup optimised by the Swiss Side aero experts in the wind tunnel and in field tests using Swiss Side’s latest measurement technologies. « I have complete confidence in Swiss Side, » says the fourth place finisher of the 2019 Ironman World Championships – and she surely aims to take the World Championship title in 2020. Swiss Side also continues to support four-time long distance winner Daniela Bleymehl, Challenge Roth champion Andreas Dreitz as well as Challenge Walchsee winner and power package Maurice Clavel with wheels for training and competition as well as with continuous system optimisation in the wind tunnel. In addition, Swiss Side continues to support and accompany the Raelert brothers Andreas and Michael on the way to their sporting goals.

New to the Swiss Side team are the following professional triathletes:

Jan van Berkel (SUI). With the two times Ironman winner we have the pleasure to support one of the best athletes from the home country of Swiss Side. The Ironman Switzerland winner has ambitious plans for 2020: “I wanted to make another step in my performance and I was looking for the best people and gear in aerodynamics. With Jean-Paul and Swiss Side, I’ve got the best people of the business on my side. I ride on the roads where Swiss Side was born and developed and I am happy to emphasise the Swiss part in Swiss Side! »

Van Berkel’s compatriot Philipp Koutny (SUI) has benefited from the aero know-how of our experts in terms of riding position and bike setup starting in early 2019. The eighth place finisher of the 2019 Ironman WC wants to be on the podium even more often and higher up on Swiss Side wheels in the coming season than he had been in the past: « By joining the Swiss Side Team I got the opportunity to ride the fastest wheels on the market and to benefit from a huge aerodynamic know-how, which paid off after a short time. »

Thanks to Yvan Jarrige (FRA), the Swiss Side pro team is becoming even more international: « The French market is very important to us. Yvan has a high affinity for aerodynamics and we’ve already been talking for two years. We are delighted that he is now part of the team, » says Swiss Side CEO Jean-Paul Ballard. We will now support the champion of 2019 Ironman 70.3 Rio de Janeiro as he makes the leap from middle- to long-distance racing.

Svenja Thoes (GER) will not only ride on Swiss Side wheels, but also on a bike we co-developed aerodynamically: the Cube Aerium. The third place finisher of 2019 Challenge Walchsee will compete as official Swiss Side athlete this season.

Frederic Funk (GER) has already competed on Swiss Side wheels as a member of the Erdinger Alkoholfrei Perspektiv Team. Thanks to his athletic successes such as his victory in the Ironman 70.3 Lanzarote, he moved up to the pro team last year – and as a member of this team, he now benefits not only from our wheels, but also from Swiss Side’s aero advice.
